Habib Rizieq Shihab lifts ban on returning to Indonesia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – It was reported that the leader of the FPI, Habib Rizieq Shihab, will return to Indonesia.

FPI President Ahmad Shabari Lubis stated that his party had received information that the Saudi Arabian government had revoked the ban on Rizieq Shihab.

Rizieq is also free from the fine imposed by the Saudi Arabian government.

The lifting of the ban and the release of the fine was the result of a negotiation process between Rizieq Shihab and the Saudi Arabian authorities without the help of the Indonesian government.

“Next, the great Imam Habib Rizieq Shihab is awaiting the administrative process for safar fees (exit permits) and the purchase of tickets, as well as scheduling to return to Indonesia,” Ahmad said in his written statement on Tuesday. (10/13/2020).

Ahmad added, DPP FPI expressed special thanks to the Government of Saudi Arabia and all parties who have contributed to helping Rizieq Shihab.
