The deputy secretary general of the Islamic Defenders Front, Aziz Yanuar, said Habib Rizieq Shihab was not sure if he would comply with the summons from the Jakarta police tomorrow. What did the police say?

Polda Metro’s Head of Public Relations Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said that according to the rules, the witnesses who were summoned were unable to comply with the police summons. Whenever it is examined, it gives clear reasons.

“The mechanism is fine as long as it can provide definite reasons. The reasons according to the law are correct,” Yusri told reporters at the Jakarta police headquarters, Jakarta, on Monday (11/30/2020).

Yusri gave an example, if Habib Rizieq could not attend due to illness, Habib Rizieq representatives had to present proof of illness from the hospital to the police. The police, Yusri continued, would later examine the doctor who treated Habib Rizieq to ensure his health.

“For example, an affected person is ill from bringing a sickness certificate from a doctor. We will check the doctor later. What is the pain. It is impossible for a sick person to be examined. The important thing is that there must be a definite reason”, said.

In addition to Habib Rizieq, the police also scheduled the questioning of 2 other witnesses. The two witnesses were from the FPI Law Office, Aziz Yanuar, and Habib Rizieq’s son-in-law, Hanif Alatas.
