JAKARTA, KOMPAS, TV – Gus Nur was previously arrested by a Bareskrim Polri team on Saturday (10/24) morning at his home in Malang.
The police arrived with warrants for the arrest, detention and confiscation of evidence.
Regarding this matter, Gus Nur’s lawyer and family held a protest at the midnight arrest.
The Police Public Relations Division, Karopenmas, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono at the Police Station said that his group had carried out the arrest of Gus Nur according to procedure.
As for the hate speech case now charged with Gus Nur, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police examined 3 witnesses.
“So for the witnesses, three witnesses have been questioned, including the suspects,” Police Brigadier General Karopenmas, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said at the police headquarters on Monday (10/26) 2020).
Awi explained that the witnesses being questioned were experts in criminal law and language.
Gus Nur was arrested at a house whose address is in Pakis, Malang, East Java.
