Arsenal and Mikel Arteta continue on a negative path. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola asked the Gunners not to rush his former assistant.
Arsenal lost 1-4 to Manchester City in the Premier League quarter-finals. The match took place at the Emirates Stadium, on Wednesday (12/23/2020).
Four Man City goals were recorded on behalf of Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte. While London Cannon’s goal was recorded in the name of Alexandre Lacazette.
With this loss, Arsenal only won once in the last five games. There have been three defeats and one draw that Arsenal have won in other games.
Arsenal’s performance in the Premier League is quite worrying. The North London team have been seven games without a win, losing five and drawing two.
Arsenal also slumped to 15th place in the Premier League standings with 14 points. The need to fire Arteta arises. Guardiola commented on Arteta’s situation at Arsenal.
“I’m pretty sure they will believe it,” Guardiola said as reported by the BBC.
“They will make a big mistake if they think (about firing him),” said the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich tactician.
Arteta began serving at Arsenal in December of last year. The North London team has played 52 games, with 27 wins, 10 draws and 15 losses.
Arteta has donated two trophies to Arsenal. The 2019/2020 FA Cup and 2020 Community Shield that the 38-year-old manager has donated to the Bullet Warehouse team.
