East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa imposed sanctions on Jember’s ruler, Faida. The regent will not be paid for 6 months.
“Oh yeah, because the regulations are like this. It also applies to all regents in Indonesia,” Governor Khofifah said at the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya, on Tuesday (8/9/2020).
Khofifah explained that the sanctions were given to the Regent of Faida for the delay in submitting the formulation of the Raperda for the Regency of Jember, compared to the APBD of Jember for fiscal year 2020.
Khofifah’s decision was contained in Governor’s Decree number 700/1713/060/2020, regarding the imposition of administrative sanctions on the regent of Jember. The governor’s decree decided to impose administrative sanctions in the form of not paying economic rights for 6 months to the Faida Regent.
The aforementioned economic rights include base salary, assignment by position, other allowances, fees, operational support costs and other financial rights, in accordance with the legal and regulatory provisions.
The Governor’s Decree was signed by Governor Khofifah on September 2, 2020. The Governor’s Decree was adopted on the basis of the consideration of the Letter of the Minister of the Interior on the follow-up of the problems in Jember and the report of the Inspection from East Java.
The Governor’s Decree was also transmitted to the Indonesian Minister of the Interior, the DPRD Chairman of Jember, the BPK Representative of East Java, the Inspector of East Java, the Head of BPKA of East Java and the Head of BPKA of Jember .
