Anies Baswedan approached the crowd, which was becoming an anarchist, and burned down a series of public facilities in the HI roundabout area in Jakarta that night. TransJakarta bus stops in the area were also burned down by massive actions.

In front of the students, Anies promised to convey his aspirations to President Jokowi.

“That what was previously the aspiration, we will transmit and continue with these voices.” Anies said after a few minutes of listening to the complaints from the students, Thursday night (8/10) at the HI roundabout in central Jakarta.

Anies understands that the action to reject the Omnibus Law has not only occurred in Jakarta, but in several other cities.

“I tell everyone that we must refrain from continuing to broadcast our aspirations in an orderly manner, well,” Anies said in front of the crowd.

On that occasion, Anies said there were about 11 bus stops in Jakarta, damaged by the demonstration. He made sure his party made repairs immediately so that residents could return to their activities.

“We, the provincial government of DKI Jakarta will immediately make sure that all public facilities are working as soon as possible so that the people in Jakarta can carry out their activities properly, tonight, God willing, everything is clean.” Anies said.
