YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government states that the contribution of the Organizing Agency for Social Health Insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) does not increase for class III in its implementation in the field.
The Director General of the Budget of the Ministry of Finance, Askolani, said that the increase was only written in the regulations.
In this case, the regulation is Presidential Regulation Number 64 Year 2020 related to the Second Amendment to Perpres Number 82 Year 2018 related to Health Insurance.
He said Perpres claimed that class III rates for independent participants in the non-salaried worker (PBPU) and non-employee (BP) segments had been increased.

However, the increase was only mentioned in Perpres.
“We emphasize that the regulation calls for class III tariffs to increase PBPU and BP, but that only increases in Perpres implementation. If implementation (in the field), it doesn’t actually increase,” Askolani said in information for the media in one way online, Thursday (05/14/2020).
He explained that in 2020, especially during the pandemic, the government provided financial assistance that reached Rp 3.1 trillion.
With the assistance of these funds, deposits made by the public for the PBPU and PB segments did not increase or remained at Rp. 25,500.
In the new Perpres, the fees for independent class III participants increased from Rp. 25,500 to Rp. 42,000.

However, out of the amount of Rp 42,000, the government provides a subsidy of Rp 16,500 for people to continue paying Rp 25,500.
“There has been no increase in implementation on the ground, because it continues to be assisted by the government. We believe this will not only be in 2020, but in 2021 in the future,” he said.
The Perpres also states that in 2021 there will be an adjustment for class III with a total contribution of Rp 35,000.

However, in their payment, central and regional governments will continue to support payment assistance to reduce the burden on people’s deposits.
