The government, in this case the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) no longer uses economic growth and the national inflation rate as a consideration to determine the provincial minimum wage (PSU) in 2021.
The reason is that the UMP determination formulation scheme in government regulation (PP) Number 78 of 2015 mandates that the government must adjust and reevaluate the need for a dignified life (KHL).
In this way, the stipulation of the UMP for 2021, said the director of Wages of the General Directorate of Labor Relations and Social Security of the Worker (PHI JSK), Dinar Titus Jogaswitani, was made based on calculations.
“Every 5 years based on the KHL, which means that the 2021 provisions will be stipulated on November 1 based on the KHL,” he said when contacted. detikcom, Jakarta, Wednesday (7/10/2020).
Dinar explained that the determination of the UMP in 2021 based on the KHL is due to the formulation in the form of national inflation plus national economic growth in Government Regulation Number 78 of 2015, which establishes that every five years an evaluation must be carried out, especially at the KHL.
Dinar further said that the Ministry of Manpower is currently completing the KHL review process.
“Now he has been assigned in the PP. The minister is going to issue, perhaps today or tomorrow a PP that contains new components, it is now under review, “he said.
