Gibran’s name associated with the Bansos case, here is KPK’s answer

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) responded to the question about the name of the son of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who was linked to the alleged corruption case of basic food social assistance that caught the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari Peter Batubara.

The Vice President of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Nurut Ghufron, stated that the KPK would receive information from either party about the alleged case of corruption of social assistance (bansos) in the Ministry of Social Affairs.

“So the KPK once again accepts that anyone will provide information to law enforcement agencies on the eradication of corruption, especially the Covid-19 issue, including social assistance in the Ministry of Social Affairs, including anyone who is questioned on the whereabouts of brother Gibran Rakabuming, “Ghufron said at the KPK building, Jakarta, on Monday. The KPK, he added, would continue to pursue professional legal proceedings against anyone if there was another party involved in the welfare corruption case.

“Once again, this is all information and the KPK will continue to carry out the legal process both to investigate the whereabouts through the investigation process. For the KPK once again, the KPK will firmly carry out the legal process in a manner professional whoever it is, the KPK will enforce it, “he said.

According to him, the KPK will leak all incoming information about the case before continuing with the investigation.

“We will filter all the information,” then if it is information that requires further exploration or not, it needs to be explored or not, whether we have evidence or not, we will follow up on all of it, “he explained.

Meanwhile, KPK Acting Spokesperson Ali Fikri said that the KPK confirmed that any information about the case would, of course, be extracted and confirmed to witnesses who would then be summoned and examined by the KPK investigation team.

Gibran had previously denied any information that his party was involved in the alleged welfare corruption case.

Through a press release, Jakarta, on Monday (12/21), Gibran emphasized that his party had never intervened or recommended the hiring gift bag from PT Sritex which is used as a container for social assistance packages distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

“That is not true, I have never recommended or ordered or interfered in social assistance matters, much less do I recommend gift bag, Never. That is false news, ”Gibran said in a statement.

Gibran also challenged all parties to prove to the KPK that they track down the truth of the problem. In addition, he also requested a check with Sritex.
