Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Couple of candidates for Major of Solo serial number 1, Gibran Rakabuming Raka-Teguh Prakosa currently has an overwhelming advantage in the General Election Commission (KPU) Sirekap version of the provisional count results in Pilkada Alone 2020.
The KPU sirekap as of December 11, 2020 at 07.30 WIB has collected 56.13 percent of the vote counting process from a total of 1,231 polling stations (TPS) in Solo.
Gibran-Teguh is currently getting the highest votes with 86.5 percent or 125,471 valid votes compared to its rival, Bagyo Wahono-Suparjo (BaJo). The Bagyo-Suparjo couple lost a lot because they only got 13.5 percent of the votes.
The Gibran-Teguh couple is supported by a coalition of various parties, such as PDIP, PAN, Golkar, Gerindra and PSI. Meanwhile, the BaJo pair runs through independent or individual channels.
The superiority of Gibran’s vote against BaJo’s pair almost equaled the pair of regional election candidates who were fighting for an empty box. This is because the BaJo couple received only a dozen percent of the votes. Not very different from the votes obtained by the empty boxes in various regions that celebrated the Pilkada 2020.

In the Pilkada of Kediri Regency, for example. The empty box received 23.2 percent of the votes against the Hanindito Himawan Permana-Dewi Maria couple who received 75.8 percent according to the provisional results of the KPU Sirekap.
Then the empty boxes also received 13.4 percent of the vote in the Grobogan, Central Java Regional Election, according to KPU Sirekap’s interim results. The Sri Sumarni-Bambang couple stood out with 86.6 percent in the region.
In other areas, empty boxes were also up 18.9 percent in Pilkada in the city of Sragen, Central Java, according to interim results from Sirekap. The Kusdinar-Suroto candidate pair is currently winning with 81.1 percent of the vote.
An observer from the Charta Politika institute explained that Gibran had a number of factors in order to be totally superior to BaJo. First, regarding the identity of Gibran, who is the son of President Jokowi.
Jokowi’s already very high standing made it easy for Gibran to increase his popularity and eligibility.
“This means that the task of socializing as a candidate for regional chief is relatively easier than for other candidates or names,” Ardha said.
The second factor concerns most of the political parties that have seats in Solo DPRD that support Gibran, while BaJo is an independent candidate. According to Ardha, Gibran’s political machine is certainly very strong compared to BaJo.
Another factor revealed by Ardha was the role of the acting mayor, namely FX Hadi Rudyatmo.
“In various polls conducted by Charta Politika Indonesia, the level of satisfaction with the performance of the municipal government is on average above 80 percent. This seems to strengthen public acceptance of the candidates who are nominated by the PDIP,” said Ardha.
