Jakarta, IDN Times – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, has been implicated in the welfare (bansos) corruption scandal. In a research report Tempo Magazine, Gibran is said to have recommended PT Sritex to buy bags of food for welfare.
In response to this, the president of the PDI-P DPP, Hendrawan Supratikno, admitted that he did not know the news.
“Not yet (I heard about Gibran being involved in the welfare scandal), he is still in the constituency evaluating the regional elections,” Hendrawan told IDN Times on Sunday (12/20/2020).

Hendrawan was also reluctant to comment on the news that the proceeds of welfare corruption suspected of Social Affairs Minister Juliari Batubara had come to the PDIP to win the Pilkada 2020.

Meanwhile, Mardani Ali Sera, a DPR member from the PKS faction, asked the KPK to fully investigate the Bansos scandal to the top. He said that all facts must be disclosed, including all parties with evidence of participation that must be questioned and investigated.
“Encourage the KPK to completely dismantle everyone involved. The law must be fair,” Mardani told the IDN Times.
3. The social minister is suspected of corruption in social assistance
Previously, the KPK named the inactive Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Peter Batubara on suspicion of receiving a bribe in the alleged corruption case of the COVID-19 welfare program. In this case, Juliari allegedly accepted a bribe of 17 billion rupees. This amount is the fee for each basic food package of IDR 10,000.
