The figure and statement of Lieutenant General (ret) Djamari Chaniago is the center of attention in the case of the alleged attack on TNI soldiers by members of the Siliwangi Bandung Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG SBC). Police named Djamari as the leader of the group, but HOG SBC denied this.
The alleged attack incident itself occurred on Friday afternoon (10/30/2020). At that time, two TNI members, namely Serda M Yusuf and Serda Mistari, allegedly received inappropriate treatment by the moge group passing through Jalan Dr Hamka in Bukittinggi city.
Danpuspomad, Lieutenant General Dodik Wijanarko, said the two soldiers suspected of being the victims of the beatings were on duty without official uniforms. Both are members of Intel Kodim 0304 / Agam.

5 people become suspicious
Later, the police named five people as suspects in this case. Four people have been named as suspects first, namely MS (49), B (18), HS alias A (48) and JAD alias D (26).
Later, the police named another suspect, namely TTR alias TTG (33). TTG is suspected of shooting down one of the TNI soldiers.
“The TTG suspect pushed the victim Muhammad Yusuf to the ground and strengthened the witness statement,” West Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu said on Monday (11/2/2020).
Apologies from HOG SBC
The HOG SBC admitted that there was an error related to the beating that left two TNI soldiers injured. HOG SBC apologizes for the case.
“We apologize to the entire Indonesian people for the shock at this incident. Second, on behalf of the HOG SBC, we apologize to all the victims of beatings by members of the HOG SBC. Third, we apologize to all of the TNI members, especially the local kodim, and apologize to all the people of West Sumatra, especially the Bukittinggi Regency, “said Epriyanto, HOG SBC Public Relations.
The group is called led by a retired general.
Police said the Harley club group was led by Lieutenant General (Purn) Djamari Chaniago. Djamari is said to be a former TNI chief of staff.
“Yes, the former Kasum (TNI). Yes, the group is the president of Lieutenant General (retired) Djamari Chaniago,” the head of Public Relations of the Regional Police of West Sumatra, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu, told reporters Sunday (1/11/2020).
Bayu said that when the HOG SBC members attacked the TNI members, Lieutenant General Djamari was with the front group. According to him, after the attack, Lieutenant General Djamari also mediated between the perpetrator and the victim.
“He stayed at the Novotel hotel. Then he was mediated at the Novotel hotel. But the informant did not accept it, so finally the person in question went to the police to report his case,” Bayu said.
