jpnn.com, OGAN KOMERING ULU – The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Kasad), General TNI, Andika Perkasa, released a statement on the implementation of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections, to be held on December 9.
General Andika Perkasa reminded all TNI AD staff to remain neutral in the 2020 regional elections that took place in 270 regions of Indonesia, including the Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU).
“The TNI AD must be neutral according to the mandate of the law,” said Kasad while inspecting the Kartika Yudha Inter-Branch Training Peak 2020 at the Military Military Command Combat Training Center (Puslatpur) in Baturaja, OKU Regency, South Sumatra, Thursday (11/26)).
General Andika emphasized that this neutral stance is necessary considering that TNI has no mission related to regional elections.
He also asked the entire community to report if there were any TNI members who were not neutral or on the side of one of the regional chief candidates during the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.
“Reports from the public will be followed up immediately to take action against unscrupulous members of TNI who are involved in practical politics, based on the violations they committed,” he said.
General Andika Perkasa confirmed that he would not cover or protect any person who proved not to be neutral during Pilkada 2020.
“I really hope that public participation will immediately report these violations,” he said.
