SEMARANG, KOMPAS.com – The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, asked the Central Java ESDM Office to verify and handle the causes of the extinction of the Eternal Flame of Mrapen.

Previously, the eternal fire that was in Manggarma village, Godong sub-district, Grobogan Regency had been extinguished since last September 25.

“I asked ESDM to check if there is something. Is it because the reserves in it are depleted, or because of the influence of exploitation from both sides? We are asking for checks,” Ganjar said on Friday (02/10/2020).

He suspects that the death of Mrapen’s eternal flame could be caused by natural factors, resulting in depleted gas sources in it.

In addition, other possibilities such as the presence of disturbances and exploration of the environment.

“Maybe there is interference from the left and right. It could be that there is someone next to him doing something disturbing. For example, someone is digging here, then the gas leaks into the dug hole. I asked the team to check and investigate, in addition to conducting an investigation, “he said.
