Free COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia will be available to 32 million people

Indonesian Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto presented an update on the implementation of Corona virus vaccination in Indonesia. In a working meeting with Commission IX of the Indonesian Parliament, Health Minister Terawan said that 107 million people will receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

In compliance, there are 2 vaccine administration schedules, namely the government vaccine program and the independent vaccine. For the vaccine program, the target audience is around 32 million people with 73 doses of vaccine.

“The target vaccination program is 32,158,276 people,” said Health Minister Terawan.

To meet the government’s COVID-19 vaccination needs, the types of COVID-19 vaccines provided are 58 million doses of the vaccine developed by Sinovac and 16 million doses of the Cova / Gavi vaccine.

Target groups for this vaccine are healthcare workers, public officials, including TNI / Polri participants and BPJS Kesehatan PBI. Those in this group are not charged a vaccination fee.

Also, for the independent vaccination program, where the target group is the community and economic actors, the number of people who will be injected with the vaccine is 75 million people.

There are 3 types of COVID-19 vaccines administered to independent groups, namely 85 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine, 30 million doses of the Novavax vaccine, and 57.6 doses of the Red and White vaccine.
