The prosecutor (JPU) introduced Iwan Purwanto, who denounced Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo in the case of Djoko Tjandra’s false pass. During the trial, Prasetijo appeared angry and asked about the reasons for reporting on him.
The trial was held at the East Jakarta District Court, Jl. Dr. Sumarno, Cakung, Tuesday (03/11/2020). Witness Iwan is known to be a member of the Subdit 5 Bareskrim Polri staff. Iwan also said that he was Prasetijo’s subordinate in Bareskrim, though not directly.
Prasetijo himself followed the process via virtual, which was shown on the screen of the courtroom. During the trial, Prasetijo asked why Iwan had come forward.
Former Karo Korwas PPNS Bareskrim Polri sounded angry because he asked a question in a high pitch. From time to time Prasetijo is seen raising his hand and pointing at the camera.
“You mentioned previously who reported, what is the reason for the complaint?” he said.
Responding to the question, Iwan admitted that he reported on instructions from his superiors. Iwan mentioned the name of Bareskrim Polri’s chief crime officer, Brigadier Pol Ferdy Sambo.
“The leadership asked me,” Iwan said.
Prasetijo then asked the name of the leader in question. He also asked why his boss was not reporting.
“Who is in charge?” Prasetijo asked.
“Kombes (currently the rank of Brigadier General) Pol Ferdy Sambo,” Iwan replied.
“Why don’t direct superiors dare to report?” Prasetijo asked again.
“I followed orders,” Iwan said.
