Investigations by the president of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Ahmad Sobri Lubis and the commander of the Islamic Defenders Army (LPI) Maman Suryadi ended after more than 24 hours. After the investigation, the two suspects were not detained by the police.
Sobri Lubis and Maman Suryadi’s attorneys, Alamsyah Hanafiah, explained that the two were examined regarding their ability in the case of Prophet Muhammad SAW’s birthday and Habib Rizieq’s daughter’s wedding in Petamburan, central Jakarta, prompting a crowd. In addition, the two were also questioned as witnesses to the suspect Habib Rizieq Shihab in connection with the crowd-inciting case.
However, both refused to be questioned as witnesses in the Habib Rizieq case. They chose to open up about the Habib Rizieq case in court later.
“As soon as the question about the testimony is about to continue, as a suspect, it means the witness’s BAP, he said the answer was ‘I will answer in court.’ He will testify in court like this. Finally, the examination of the testimony will not continued, “said Sobri Lubis attorney Alamsyah Hanafiah. , when confirmed by journalists, on Tuesday (12/15/2020).
Alamsyah said that his client would testify about the Habib Rizieq case at trial later.
“He wanted to be examined by investigators as a witness. He said that he would answer in court for my testimony. So the point is that he is not willing to be a follow-up witness, he will only explain it in court,” Alamsyah said.
Sobri Lubis also answered many questions from investigators with similar answers when examined about the crowd case.
“Every question, it seems like yesterday the suspect question was also answered by almost 95 percent ‘I’ll answer it in court,'” Alamsyah said.
