Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

President General of the Front of Islamic Defenders (REIT) Ahmad Shabri Lubis declined to be examined as a witness for the suspect in the Petamburan crowd case, Rizieq Shihab. Shabri himself has also been named a suspect in this case.

“I object, I object to being examined as a witness and will first focus on my suspect’s affairs,” Shabri told Polda Metro Jaya on Tuesday (12/15).

Shabri did not explain further reasons for refusing to be examined as a witness for Rizieq. However, he confirmed that he had completed his examination as a suspect in the case.

He admitted that he was asked 63 questions about the crowd in Petamburan.

Meanwhile, a team of FPI lawyers, Sugito Atmo Prawiro, said Shabri was asked for information on various matters during the examination.

“Generally speaking, it refers to the organizational problems of FPI, it refers to the implementation of the Prophet’s birthday and the marriage of his daughter (Rizieq),” he said.

Sugito confirmed that Shabri and the commander of the Islamic Defenders Army (LPI), Maman Suryadi, were not detained after being questioned as suspects.

“I checked it before, it seems there were no arrests so this only took 1X24 hours,” Sugito said.

Previously, investigators at Polda Metro Jaya Ditreskrimum had named six suspects in the crowd case, namely Rizieq Shihab, Shabri Lubis, Maman Suryadi, Haris Ubaidillah, Ali Bin Alwi Alatas and Idrus.

In this case, Rizieq was charged with section 160 KUHP and section 216 KUHP in this case. Meanwhile, the other five suspects are subject to article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 on Sanitary Quarantine.

Rizieq has been detained at the Rutan Narcotics Directorate in Polda Metro Jaya. Meanwhile, the other five suspects were not arrested.
