BOLASPORT.COM – Aprilia rider Aleix Espargaró managed to become the fastest in the first free practice session (free practice / FP1) of the Doha MotoGP 2021.

The second series of MotoGP Qatar Qatar 2021 races opened with the FP1 session that took place at the Losail International Circuit, Doha, Qatar, on Friday (2/4/2021).

Aleix Espargaró set the fastest lap time and closed the session with a score of 1 minute 54.770 seconds.

He was 0.060 seconds ahead of Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) who finished second.

Rounding out the top three is Monster Energy Yamaha racer Maverick Vinales.

The course of the 2021 MotoGP FP1 session in Doha

Several riders withdrew immediately for a moment when the FP1 session began with the appearance of the Ducati, Repsol Honda and Yamaha teams.

Then puffs of smoke billowed from Franco Morbidelli’s (Petronas Yamaha) racing bike as he passed Turn 1.

Meanwhile, Red Bull KTM rider Miguel Oliveira has yet to hit the track due to technical problems.
