“The area of ​​the building that caught fire is 100 meters, with a height of 3 to 4 floors for each building. We still do not know how much loss of material this fire caused,” Satriadi said.

Previously, the mob was suspected of setting fire to several public facilities in the Pasar Senen area of ​​central Jakarta on Thursday (8/10) evening. This was after the Cipta Kerja Omnibus Law demonstration around the State Palace, Jakarta, which ended in chaos.

Based on monitoring CNNIndonesia.com at the Simpang Lima Senen location, the police post, the Transjakarta bus stop and the Grand Theater cinema around the area caught fire. Until 11:54 p.m. WIB, agents were still trying to carry out the blackout process.

In addition, several other public facilities were also damaged. About 11 bus stops in Transjakarta were completely damaged. Later, a series of police posts were also attacked by the masses who took to the streets to reject the Employment Creation Law.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated that he would immediately repair Jakarta’s public facilities that were damaged during the Omnibus Act demonstration. According to him, dozens of facilities were damaged.

“As of this afternoon, all roads, all public facilities, will be safe. There are 11 bus stops that are totally damaged, we will repair them all,” Anies said at the HI Jakarta roundabout on Thursday (8/10).

Anies estimated that the cost needed to repair the damage was Rs 25 billion. However, the permanent stop could not be repaired immediately. Closer handling, DKI will build a temporary stop.
