JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Former Health Minister Siti Fadillah Supari was purely free from the Class I Detention Center, Pondok Bambu, on Saturday (10/31/2020).

Siti Fadillah was convicted of a case of abuse of authority in the procurement of medical devices (medical equipment) in anticipation of an extraordinary event (KLB) in 2005, at the Center for the Management of Health Problems (PPMK) of the Ministry of Health.

“Having been released today, Saturday, October 31, 2020, the residents attended on behalf of Dr. Hj. Siti Fadilah Supari, Sp.Jp,” said the head of Public Relations and Protocols of the General Directorate of Corrections, Rika Aprianti, in a written statement Saturday.

Rika said Siti was released because she had finished serving the basic sentence of 4 years in prison and had paid a fine and additional compensation to the state.

With the release of Siti Fadilah, Rutan Class I Pondok Bambu also handed over Siti Fadillah to his legal authority and family.

“It has been delivered from the Rutan Class I Pondok Bambu to the lawyer on behalf of Dr. Kholidin, Sh, Mh and Tia, the daughter of Dr. Siti Fadillah, functioning smoothly according to health protocols,” said Rika.

Former Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari was sentenced to four years in prison by a panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court on June 16, 2017.

Siti’s abuse of authority caused state financial losses of around Rs 5.7 billion.

According to the panel of judges, in acquiring medical equipment to overcome the outbreak in 2005, Siti made a letter of recommendation regarding direct appointment.

He also requested that the power of attorney of the budget user and person responsible for the commitment, Mulya A. Hasjmy, directly designate PT Indofarma Tbk as a supplier of goods and services.

Furthermore, Siti is also considered to have accepted a bribe of Rs 1.9 billion.

According to the prosecutor, the money was delivered by PT Finance Director Graha Ismaya Sri Wahyuningsih in the form of a Mandiri Traveler’s Check (MTC) in the amount of 20 pieces worth Rs 500 million.

Then from Rustam Syarifudin Pakaya he obtained from PT Graha Ismaya Managing Director, Masrizal Achmad Syarif, for an amount of Rp. 1,375,000,000.

The money consists of 50 pieces of MTC worth IDR 1.2 billion and 1 sheet of MTC worth IDR 25 million and 10 pieces of MTC worth IDR 100 million.

According to the judge, the money was given because Siti had approved the budget revision for the acquisition of medical equipment (medical equipment) I and allowed PT Graha Ismaya to supply medical equipment I.
