Medan, CNN Indonesia –
Former member Brimob Kamiso (45), who was named a suspect in the shooting of West Medan police member Aiptu Robin Silaban, claimed that he was shot after surrendering.
According to Kamiso, he was taken in by the police to find the whereabouts of five of his colleagues who were also involved in his case two days after the surrender. However, he could not see because the officers had closed his eyes.
“After turning myself in. I don’t know where he was shot (at the scene),” Kamiso said while suffering leg pain at Medan Police, on Tuesday (March 11).
Kamiso admitted that he had turned himself in to a member of the Percut Sei Tuan police in Sampali Village, Deli Serdang Regency. He was also carrying evidence of Aiptu Robin’s revolver firearm that he had seized at the time of the incident.
Kamiso denied trying to seize weapons belonging to officers during the case. However, upon making the confession, Kamiso, who was originally in the Medan Police, was taken to the building by the police.
Meanwhile, Kapolrestabes Medan’s Chief Commissioner Riko Sunarko said her group had to shoot Kamiso because it was trying to seize weapons belonging to officers.
Furthermore, Riko said, Kamiso did not give up. This was because Kamiso did not come to the police station, but was instead secured on the side of Jalan Sampali.
“We asked the suspect to show his colleagues, including his place of residence, but we acted again and tried to seize the weapons of our members who were guarding him. We will take measured and decisive action by incapacitating those affected,” said Riko .
Riko said her group is still investigating Kamiso’s motive for shooting Aiptu Robin at a car wash on October 27. According to him, based on Kamiso’s confession, a woman with the initials NWT was ordered to pick up Kadeo and Irvan.
“Then KM (Kamiso) and his five friends arrived at the scene and immediately caused a riot. Even the suspects committed the vandalism. The van was related to the business affairs of NWT and the two men,” he said.
Riko said that Aiptu Robin, who was at the car wash and repair shop, reminded her of Kamiso, but still damaged the shop. Then Robin fired a warning shot and Kamiso’s leg was hit by a bullet.
“However, the person in question pretended to invite the members to speak kindly to our members, but after getting closer, he actually hit our members’ hands with a double stick,” he said.
Furthermore, Riko stated that Aiptu Robin’s firearm fell and Kamiso immediately took it away. Kamiso then shot Aiptu Robin, who hit the victim’s chest and lungs.
At that time, Kamiso was assisted by three other people who are also currently on the run, namely AM (45), EN (35) and HA (30), who are children of NWT. According to Riko, Kamiso also had time to point the firearm at Aiptu Robin’s head. However, the gun did not fire.
“That is based on the testimony of witnesses in the TKP,” he said.
Riko added that Kamiso was a Brimob member who was fired. During the initial investigation, Kamiso admitted to being a member of Brimob in 1999. However, Riko did not know the truth about Kamiso as a member of Brimob.
“Currently we are checking. The information was against the commander of the company, then the PTDH was deserted and executed or dismissed disrespectfully,” he said.
Previously, the shooting took place at a car wash and repair shop, Jalan Gagak Hitam, on Tuesday, October 27. When a fight broke out, Kamiso managed to get hold of Aiptu Robin’s weapon. Kamiso then shot Aiptu Robin and penetrated the victim’s right chest to the lungs.
