GROBOGAN, KOMPAS.TV – The eternal flame of Mrapen in Manggarmas Village, Godong District, Grobogan Regency, Central Java, surprisingly goes out completely. This extinction of the eternal flame of Mrapen is the first time in history.

The absence of gas supply is suspected to be the cause of the extinction of the Mrapen fire. The eternal flame of Mrapen was known to have been extinguished on Friday (09/25/2020) last week.

Manggarmas Village chief Achmad Mufid confirmed the news. The eternal flame was gradually extinguished. At first the fire seemed to dim. Until then it was completely turned off.

According to Mufid, he had reported the extinction of the Mrapen fire to related parties.

Meanwhile, Kendeng Selatan Region Head of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, Teguh Yudi Pristiyanto, admitted that he had checked the location on Wednesday (9/30/2020).

The results of the temporary verification that no gas is coming out of the fire pit. Mrapen’s eternal flame is known to come from natural gas that bursts at that point.
