KOMPAS.com- A Buleleng Regency resident named Kadek Redi Areni reported losing Rs 94,188,000 in cash in the Baturiti, Tabanan, Bali area on Saturday (12/19/2020) morning.

The tens of millions of money apparently fell strewn across the streets as the reporter passed through the Baturiti, Tabanan area with his son.

The money was originally placed in the black bag that Kadek’s son was carrying.

The journalist’s information indicated that the money allegedly dispersed after his son took the hat in the bag.

Kadek Redi was leaving Buleleng for Denpasar.

He kept Rs 94 million in a black bag. A total of Rs 63 million will be paid to the company, while the rest is personal money.

It was suspected that the money was dispersed because the complaining child forgot to close the bag after taking the hat.

Unexpectedly, that amount of money disappeared.

Around the same time, a viral video appeared on social media about money scattered on the street.

On the Instagram account @info_tabanan it is described that residents are fighting for money on the street.

The incident is said to have caused motor vehicle jams in the Denpasar-Singaraja area.

Baturiti Police Chief AKP Fachmi Hamdani has not confirmed whether the two are the same incident.

“We have not been able to confirm that TKP Baturiti, we will first trace the truth,” he said on Friday (12/25).

“We have to develop and investigate whether TKP Baturiti or other areas,” he said.

Residents returned 2.4 million rupees

After the incident, the same day, several residents were known to have returned Kadek Redi’s money that had been scattered during the trip.

The provisional total amount of registered money was 2.4 million IDR with denominations of 20,000 IDR, 50,000 IDR and 100,000 IDR.

“On the same day, various residents helped collect and return around Rp. 2.4 million,” Fahmi said.

He also hopes that other residents who find the money will return it to the rightful person.

“This is a two-lane main highway, so the hope is that if someone finds it, they will return it to them,” he said.
