Head of the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) Tanah Abang, Sukana was dismissed from his post on the grounds that he ignored the provisions of the health protocol when carrying out the task of registering the marriage of the son of the High Priest of the FPI. “As of today, Sukana no longer has the mandate of additional functions as head of the KUA. Sukana has been transferred to the head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Central Jakarta,” said the Director General of Orientation of the Islamic Community in the Ministry of Religion, Kamaruddin Amin in his statement, on Monday (11/23).
Kamaruddin said the decision was made after a team made up of the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Religion conducted an investigation process related to the incident.
He emphasized that this decision was in line with the commitment of the Minister of Religion, Fachrul Razi, who prioritized the implementation of health protocols for the ranks of the Ministry of Religion on duty. This must be done to avoid the transmission of Covid-19 in the provision of services.
“It is considered that the head of KUA Tanah Abang has ignored the provisions related to health protocols in his functions. Although it has been regulated in the Circular of the General Director of Orientation of the Islamic Community of the Ministry of Religion Number: P-006 / DJ.III / Hk.00.7 / 06/2020 dated June 10, 2020 regarding the Covid Safe Productive Society, “said Kamaruddin.
Earlier, the Ministry of Religion had also transferred the Head of the Jombang Ministry of Religion Office by Decree of the Minister of Religion N032232 / B.II / 3/2020 of October 26.
This disciplinary sanction came after the Head of Kankemenag Jombang held a wedding party that sparked a crowd on October 4, 2020.
Petamburan was designated as a group for the spread of Covid-19 after Rizieq staged several events that caused crowds.
Rizieq not only received guests after returning from Saudi Arabia, but also held a large crowd from his daughter’s wedding ceremony and reception.
