BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com – Four or two-wheelers should be careful when passing through Jalan Sukamulya, Sukagalih, Sukajadi District, Bandung City, when it rains.
Because, when heavy rains hit the city of Bandung on Thursday afternoon (12/24/2020), the road turned into a river with rapids.
The phenomenon of turning Sukamulya Street into a fast-flowing river was recorded by a video camera belonging to a resident of Bandung City, Saeful Rohman (28).
At the time, Saeful was taking shelter from the pouring rain.
“That’s the time to come home from work. Due to the flooding, I only smoke cigarettes while taking refuge in the office. Suddenly a Gojek came into my office. The motorcycle fell because it hit the current,” Asep said when he went contacted Kompas.com, Thursday night.

Asep explained that the water that flowed into Jalan Sukamulya initially was not too heavy. But over time, the flow of water became heavier and heavier.
“In front of my office, the water level is as high as an adult’s thigh. Also, the water that hits the speed rises,” he said.
Due to the high and fast water at Jalan Sukamulya, Saeful captured the incident of a yellow Honda Brio car being swept away by a strong current.
“The yellow Brio was originally laid upside down. Due to the current, the car flipped over,” Saeful said.
In fact, before the Honda Brio car was washed away by the current of the water until its position reversed, Saeful also saw several cars being washed away.
Furthermore, according to Saeful, during the flooding in Jalan Sukamulya, most of the vehicles carried by the current crashed into other vehicles.
“Before the yellow Honda Brio there was also a black Honda Brio that was pushing against the flow of the water. Since it was not strong, it crashed into the Kawasaki motorcycle behind it. In total, I can see that there were three cars that were swept away. If there were six motorcycles that also fell, only the motorcycle can be put away ”, he explained.

Saeful explained that the heavy water that occurred at Jalan Sukamulya lasted for about 1.5 hours.
“The water receded around 18.30 WIB. But at Jalan Pasteur, opposite BTC, it was flooded. Because Jalan Sukamulya is located above Jalan Pasteur,” he said.
