Floods almost as high as the roofs of houses occurred in the city of Bandung, West Java, on Sunday afternoon (10/25/2020) around 4:00 p.m. WIB.

From the information collected detikcom, the flood occurred at RT 01 RW 02, Sukaraja Village, Cicendo District.

This was confirmed by the Manager of the Disaster Management Operations Control Center (Pusdalops PB) BPBD West Java Province Budi Budiman.

“There was a (flood report), in Sukaraja village, Cicendo district, at 4.30pm WIB 150cm TMA. Bandung City DKPB was still conducting an assessment,” Budi said via short message.

Budi added that the floods that occurred in Sukaraja village had receded again. “Yes,” he added.

Meanwhile, the head of the Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Office Dadang Iriana said the area is regularly flooded. However, the floods that often occur in Sukaraja village are long-term.

“According to the report, I also got the video before, just in the area routinely, then just passing by, not settling for hours,” Dadang said by phone.

Dadang said that usually within an hour or after the rain subsided, flooding in the area receded again.

“The rain subsided, some time later, it went back immediately in an hour,” he said.

When asked if the flooding in the area had almost reached the roof of the house, his group was still gathering information.

“Oh, I don’t know, I have to check, no reports yet,” he explained.

According to him, the floods that usually occur in the area are due to the narrow waterways there.

“As far as I know, the water channel is small, then the roof overflow, I once asked the head of the RW, there is no water channel that can accommodate the rain (if the intensity is high),” he concluded.
