Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Operational factory mineral water company PT Water Golden Mississippi, located in the Cicurug district, Sukabumi, West Java, was temporarily suspended due to the overflow of the Citarik-Cipeuncit River that resulted in Flash floods.

Danone Indonesia’s director of corporate communications Arif Mujahidin said the production facilities were temporarily halted to ensure employee safety.

“One of Aqua’s production sites, PT Aqua Golden Mississippi, which is located in the Cicurug district, was also affected by the flash flood,” it said in an official statement, on Tuesday (9/22).

The company, he continued, continues to coordinate with the authorities in the management of flood disasters and continues to implement security and protection protocols following the applicable standards.

Currently, Arif continued, all employees are confirmed in safe condition. Meanwhile, the company immediately took various safety measures to ensure the best quality for consumers, including compliance with regulations.

“We also ensure that this condition does not have implications for the quality and service of Aqua products and the supply for consumers is still met through our other factory facilities,” he explained.

The company will also continue to assist communities near production facilities that have suffered losses due to flash floods.

The sudden overflow of the Citarik-Cipeuncit river with a water level of 5-6 meters has caused 12 houses to be washed away by the current. Meanwhile, 85 other housing units were submerged and several motorized vehicles were swept away.
