ABU DHABI, KOMPAS.com – The flags of Israel, the United States (US) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) waved at the historic trilateral meeting on Monday (8/31/2020).
The flags were installed to welcome delegates from the three countries who landed in the UAE yesterday.
The United States was represented by Jared Kushner, the president’s senior adviser, the Israeli delegation was Meir Ben-Shabbat, head of the National Security Council, while the United Arab Emirates sent the national security adviser Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Before the meeting, the first historic commercial flight from Israel to the United Arab Emirates took place.
This flight has great symbolic value and is the key to the full normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The visit was made after the trilateral announcement and road map towards cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

The Palestinian people regret the normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates announced on August 13.

But Kushner said Palestine “should not be stuck in the past.”

In a joint statement, Israel, the United States and the United Arab Emirates urged Palestinian leaders to reconnect with Israel.
