Sosok.ID – Taiwan is really under Chinese pressure.
Many times Chinese fighter jets invaded Taiwan’s airspace, every day, every time.
This incident clearly put the Taiwanese military on high alert.
Inevitably, Taipei is doing everything in its power to defend its sovereignty.
More recently, the Chinese army is operating on Taiwanese territory.

However, the Taiwanese army managed to drive out the Chinese army.
This success won praise from the President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen. The heroic Taiwanese president praised a Taiwanese Air Force pilot who managed to intercept a Chinese fighter jet approaching the island as a “heroic act.”
The conflict between China and Taiwan has been going on for a long time. China claims Taiwan as part of its territory. Meanwhile, Taiwan refuses to submit to China.
Tensions between the two have skyrocketed after China sent many of its fighter jets over the central line of the Taiwan Straits last week. In a report in The Straits Times, on Tuesday (9/22/2020), Chinese action was met with the launch of fighter jets from Taiwan to repel Chinese jets.
While visiting the Taiwan Air Force base in Penghu, Tsai told the pilots and engineers that he was aware of their “heroic action” when they intercepted and repelled the Chinese plane. “I have great faith in you. As soldiers of the ROC (Taiwan’s official name), how can we let the enemy run through our own airspace?” Tsai said.

“I am aware that in the face of the provocative behavior of the communist planes that have besieged the island and undermined regional peace in recent days, their task at the head of airspace in Penghu must be tougher,” continued Tsai.
The base houses Taiwanese-made fighter jets, the F-CK-1 Ching-kuo Indigenous Defense Fighters (IDF), which first entered service in 1997.
Wang Chia-chu, one of the senior officers of the IDF Heavenly Colt Squadron, told Reuters that it only took five minutes to launch the plane after the Chinese plane was discovered. “We will defend our airspace in real time whenever there is a threat,” Wang said.
Another senior official, who declined to give his name, told Reuters that the Penghu-based IDF is now fighting “almost daily” due to mounting tensions with China.

The missile can be fired at targets some 200 kilometers away, targeting Chinese installations or approaching ships. Unusually, Chinese planes crossed the central line of the Taiwan Strait last week.
The Taiwan Strait is an unofficial boundary for fighters on both sides. On Monday (9/21/2020) the Chinese Foreign Ministry said the line did not exist, prompting criticism from Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu.
On Tuesday, Wu called the line an important “symbol” to avoid military clashes and urged other countries to condemn China. “We demand that the international community strongly condemn China’s words and actions and we demand that the Chinese government stop everything it has done,” Wu said.
