jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Former DPR Vice President Fahri Hamzah responded to the government’s reaction to Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD regarding the demonstration against the Employment Creation Law (Ciptaker Law). He emphasized that the government must act decisively, but the most important thing is self-introspection.

“Anger is irrational, but the cause of anger is very rational. In fact, the government must be firm, but the most important thing is introspection,” Fahri said in his written statement on Friday (9/10).

Fahri assessed that the Ciptaker Act was born with a minimal aspiration process. According to him, the government and the DPR have forgotten to apply the dialectic. Therefore, Fahri suggested, while cleaning up the rubble caused by this riot, Mahfud should invite President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi, the Advanced Cabinet of Indonesia and the DPR to rethink the impasse of the aspiration system in the country.

According to Fahri, it is a waste if you don’t want to learn a great lesson from the last two bills, namely the HIP Bill and the Omnibus Act on the Job Creation Bill. “We were together in the DPR, Mr Mahfud. Sure you know what I mean,” said Indonesian Vice Chairman of the Gelora Party.

Fahri said that the representation system controlled by political parties is not healthy, in which too many aspirations are mixed. As a result, he said, direct dialogue between the people and their representatives in parliament was hampered. “This is the root of the stalemate,” said the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) politician.

Fahri explained that in the case of the controversial bill, all the political parties in the RPD, both cheering because they came out as winners in the end, had no aspirations either. The reason, Fahri explained, was because the representative system made all the representatives of the people immediately become officials of the political party after its inauguration, in which the community was left behind.

“This is the reform process that I have proposed from the beginning. As Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Mahfud), this should be a study. I think this is very serious. The representative system of the people must be liberated immediately. from interests other than the aspirations of the people themselves, “Fahri said. (boy / jpnn)
