KOMPAS.com – In order to support the sustainability of small and medium-sized businesses, Facebook launched a grant program for independent small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia.
Each UKM has the opportunity to obtain assistance worth up to Rs 31 crore, and their target is around 400 UKM. The total assistance provided by Facebook for this program is claimed to reach Rs 12.5 billion.
According to Facebook’s official website, each UKM will receive funds worth IDR 31,017,300 consisting of IDR 19,385,800 in cash and IDR 11,631,500 in the form of optional ad credits.

To obtain this assistance, there are several conditions that SME entrepreneurs must meet, including the following:
1. It is a commercial company
2. You must have 2-50 employees as of January 1, 2020
3. It has been in operation for more than a year.
4. Experiencing difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic
5. Located around the Jakarta area
Registration for Facebook’s UKM support program was open from October 6 to October 13, 2020.
It should be noted that SMEs are also not required to have a Facebook account as a registration requirement.
Facebook is partnering with two consulting firms, namely Deloitte Consulting and Goodera, to screen incoming applicants, select SMEs, and distribute grants to selected SMEs.

“UKM is going through very difficult times. A lot of them are trying
adapt and leverage online platforms, “said Pieter Lydian, Country Director for Indonesia at Facebook in the statement received KompasTekno, Thursday (8/10/2020).
“We are listening to the challenges SME owners face and want to provide them with useful support, including financial support, to help them recover, reorganize their strategies and restore their business performance,” continued Pieter.
Free online training program for local SMEs
In addition to financial assistance, Facebook also runs online training programs to prepare SMEs to run their businesses.

UKM owners can join Boost with Facebook, where they will earn
advice from experts and fellow SME owners.
There will also be a series of free webinars for entrepreneurs to discuss developing their business towards a digital platform.
