Son Heung-min made a special incision when he led Tottenham Hotspur to beat Leeds United in the Premier League. The South Korean forward scored his 100th goal for Spurs.
Leeds entertaining, Saturday (1/2/2021), Spurs won 3-0. Harry Kane (29 ‘), Son (43’) and Toby Alderweireld (50 ‘) took turns scoring the winning goal. Especially for Son’s goal, he marked it with a trap after receiving a cross from Kane.
This goal was his 100th goal for Spurs in all competitions since signing for Bayer Leverkusen in 2015. So far, he has appeared in 253 games.
When asked about his accomplishments, Son was humbled. In fact, he praised his teammate who had helped him by giving him an assist.
“This game was very difficult. We know how strong (Leeds) are, what a great job. They can clean up, win 3-0. Starting the new year is fantastic,” Son said after the game against BT Sport.
“I am very happy and grateful to my colleagues. I did not achieve this alone. I need a lot of help to achieve this achievement.”
“Being able to score 100 goals for a single team is a great thing. I’m very proud. A great way to start a new year,” the 28-year-old continued.
Son’s goal helped the Spurs to victory and pushed them up to third place in the standings with 29 points from 16 games. They are 4 points behind Manchester United and Liverpool who are in the top two.
