Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti did not want to make many excuses for his team’s loss to Southampton. The Saints deserved to win by playing better.

Everton are trying to maintain their unbeaten record this season when they visit St Mary’s on Sunday (10/25/2020) WIB night. Putting down almost all of their best players, The Toffees played attacking from the opening minutes.

However, Southampton was able to handle the resistance from Everton and was able to solve several problems through quick attacks. Everton didn’t even budge because it was difficult to create dangerous opportunities.

Southampton then took the lead in the 25th minute with a James Ward-Prowse goal to continue Danny Ings’ bait via a kick into the penalty area. Southampton’s second goal came in the 36th minute through Che Adams who fired a cross.

Everton tried to catch up in the second half, but their efforts were in vain. In that case, Everton even lost Lucas Digne, who was expelled after raping Kyle Walker-Peters.

The 2-0 scoreline for Southampton’s victory lasted until the end, ending Everton’s good start. The victory that Southampton deserved according to Ancelotti.

Because according to Opta statistics, Southampton had 54 percent possession, then made 12 attempts with six on target. Everton only made two attempts on goal out of a total of six.

“We didn’t play well, Southampton was much better than us and they deserved to win. Sometimes you don’t give your best, and that comes after we’ve had a good run. Now we have to keep looking forward with the same passion and belief.” Ancelotti was quoted as saying BBC Sports.

“We tried to get up in this game, we controlled it well after the first half. I told the players, winter is coming soon and we have to react well,” he continued.
