There is no other team that is flawless in the 2020/2021 Premier League. This was after Everton were defeated on a trip to Southampton.

Everton are the only team that have not lost when they face Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday (10/25/2020). Aston Villa had already collapsed two days ago when they were beaten 0-3 by Leeds United.

Everton have a great chance of winning given that they appear to be near their prime, including the return of James Rodriguez. James was reportedly absent due to injury.

However, it turned out that Everton made no move for Southampton from the opening minutes. The hosts played with discipline and were able to annoy Everton with quick counterattacks.

After taking the lead with a goal from James Ward-Prowse in the 27th minute, Che Adams doubled the lead in the 35th minute. In fact, Southampton scored the third goal through Stuart Armstrong, but was ruled out for being caught out of game.

In the second half, Everton tried to catch up, but Lucas Digne’s red card in the 72nd minute made it difficult. Everton finally lost with a score of 0-2.

This result saw Everton experience their first defeat this season in the Premier League in six weeks. Even in total with other competitions, this is the first time that Merseyside Blue has dropped.

Fortunately, Everton remains at the top of the Premier League standings with 13 points, four wins, one draw and one loss. However, Everton are only superior on goal difference to Liverpool in second place and a point behind Villa in third, who have saved a game.

Quoted chooseThis is the first time this has happened in the Premier League since 1967/1968, all teams have tasted defeat as the competition has just entered its sixth week. Everton have not been able to solve the problems of the rear either.

Because four of their last five games have always ended in conceding two or more goals. Even in the last three games, Everton have conceded two goals, the first time since December 2019.

Arguably the 2020/2021 Premier League will last until the end of the season.
