JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Vice President of the Labor and Social Security Committee of the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo), Dipa Susilo, expressed her gratitude for representing all employers for the issuance of Government Regulation (PP) Number 49 of 2020, related to the relaxation of the contributions of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

The reason is that this PP has been eagerly awaited by entrepreneurs since the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia in early March 2020.

“We are very grateful that this policy was finally issued. We have been waiting for the relaxation of BP Jamsostek quotas since the beginning of the pandemic because during the Covid-19 pandemic in general, the resilience and development capacity of the company was increasingly limited. Even being able to continue their business was very difficult, “he said in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/9/2020).

According to Dipa, with the issuance of the PP, the relaxation of BPJS Employment contributions was a “breath of fresh air” for entrepreneurs.

Because it is able to reduce the financial burden of the company and prevent layoffs (PHK).

“This new policy is a breath of fresh air for the company to breathe even more in running its business. Hopefully, this policy will be followed by other policies that can ease the burden on the company in running its business.” said.

“Which ultimately prevents layoffs and can reduce unemployment in Indonesia,” continued Dipa.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah explained the reasons for the delay in the issuance of PP contributions.

“If it was broadcast before, business friends have been waiting since March, April, why just down now? It is decreasing now, but the relaxation period is longer. So if the calculation is the same during the implementation period, It will be around March or April, “he explained. .

Ida explained again, initially the relaxation of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan contributions was only valid for three months. However, considering the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, this rate is valid for 6 months.

“At that time we had only planned three months, but now the relaxation is for 6 months. Then backwards but forwards or forwards but backwards, ”he said.

It should be noted that on August 31, 2020, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) signed Government Regulation Number 49 of the year 2020.

There are a number of contributions that have been relaxed, namely, work accident benefits (JKK), death benefits (JKM), and pension benefits. As for Old Age Security (JHT), there is no concession.
