This story went viral and turned Indonesian netizens into attacking Gothamchess social media accounts.
Percasi also spoke and believed that Chess.com already had a system that could detect cheating from players competing on it. Irene Kharisma Sukandar also spoke through an open letter.

This fury led to the fan god’s duel against Irene. Irene won a landslide victory in all three rounds that took place.
