JAKARTA – PT PLN (Persero) fully supports the decision of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on the reduction of tariff adjustments for low-class customers, as indicated in the Letter from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to the President Director of PLN dated August 31, 2020.
In this case, the price per kWh for the lowest class tariff, which was previously 1,467 per kWh, has now been reduced to 1,444.70 per kWh or 22.5 per kWh. This provision is valid from October to December 2020.
This decision was made by the Government considering the economic conditions of the community for being hit by Covid-19. And as a form of state it exists to provide convenience and solutions for electricity customers.

PLN’s Executive Vice President of Communication and CSR, Agung Murdifi, said that electricity has become a basic necessity for today’s society. All community activities are supported by electricity supply.
“With this decrease, the Government and PLN want to provide space for lower-class customers to use more electricity to support their economic activities and in their daily activities,” Agung said in his written statement, Jakarta, Tuesday (1/9/2020 ).
He added that the tariff reduction for humble groups did not include any conditions. “Please enjoy this tariff reduction. And use PLN electricity comfortably and, of course, safely,” Agung added.
