Real Madrid achieved their fourth consecutive victory in La Liga. Traveling to the Eibar headquarters, Madrid won the match with the final score 3-1.
Competing at the Municipal Stadium of Ipurua, on Monday (12/21/2020), Madrid got off to a convincing start. The visitors scored two goals in 13 minutes through Karim Benzema and Luka Modric.
Eibar held out hope after Kike scored a goal in the 28th minute and often caused problems for Madrid. However, Madrid crushed Eibar’s resistance with Lucas Vázquez’s goal at the end of the match.
Three additional points obtained to propel Madrid in the LaLiga standings. The Whites are now in second place with 29 points from 14 games, the same as Atlético de Madrid at the top who have only played 12 games. Eibar climbs to number 14 after adding 14 points, in addition to the results of 12 games.

Real Madrid made a good start. When the match had just elapsed six minutes, Madrid were already 1-0 ahead of Eibar.
Karim Benzema opened the visitors advantage. Rodrygo sent a low ball to Benzema, and after controlling the ball once, he shot with his left foot that crossed the center of Eibar’s goal.
Madrid didn’t have to wait long to get their second goal. In the 13th minute, Luka Modric increased Madrid’s lead to 2-0.
Benzema’s collaboration with Lucas Vázquez on the right side ended with a bait. Modric received the ball with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area that lodged in the upper corner of Eibar’s goal.
Three minutes later, Benzema squandered a golden opportunity to score his second goal. Modric sent a measured cross that found Benzema close to the post but failed to direct his header.
Amid pressure from Real Madrid, Eibar can lower the score! Kike scores Eibar’s response so the score is now 1-2 in the 28th minute.
From an error by Thibaut Courtois, the ball was controlled by Eibar. Kevin Rodrigues kicks into a cross that Kike ends with a shot that curls into the top corner of Madrid’s goal past Courtois to reach. Let the game begin!
Benzema almost added to the coffers of his goal. Toni Kroos sent a long ball that crossed the defense of Eibar. Benzema finished off with a kick from inside the area, but the band judge’s flag had already been raised.
In injury time, Madrid’s counterattack almost resulted in the third goal. Vázquez received the ball from a long ball before outwitting goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic to rush out of his nest. Pedro Bigas swept Vázquez’s kick into the empty net. The 2-1 in favor of Madrid lasted until the break.
After the break, Eibar caused Madrid a lot of problems. Sergio Ramos made a mistake that Eibar almost took advantage of. Ferland Mendy’s entry frustrated Kike before he fired a shot into Madrid’s goal.
Madrid’s turn to attack. A long pass from Kroos freed Rodrygo from behind Eibar. Dmitrovic quickly left the net to avoid Rodrygo’s goal.
Marco Asensio immediately issued threats shortly after entering the field. From a foul situation, Asensio fired a strong shot into the upper corner of Eibar’s goal that slightly deflected.
During injury time, Sergio Ramos made a crucial sweep. From Eibar’s counterattack, Yoshinori Muto received a long ball in the penalty area, but Ramos immediately blocked it.
Real Madrid finally secured victory in the final seconds of the match. Vázquez finished off Benzema’s pass with a shot from the right side of the penalty area that lodged in the lower corner of Eibar’s goal to end the match 3-1.
