Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Political communication expert Effendi Gazali has denied receiving the Covid-19 social assistance project from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. He also challenged the KPK to examine several high-ranking officials suspected of involvement in welfare corruption.
That was relayed by Effendi after undergoing an examination at the KPK’s Red and White House, Jakarta, on Thursday (3/25).
“It was previously verified that my name was not in the BAP [tersangka] Matheus Joko Santoso. Second, it means how many tens of billions and one hundred and eight are false data, “he told the media team.
Effendi was examined as a witness in the case of alleged corruption of social assistance in the management of the Ministry of Social Affairs of Covid-19. Effendi’s statement this time is to complete the investigation file on suspect Matheus Joko Santoso.
On that occasion, he asked the anti-bribery agency to examine the great person in the case that also caught former Social Minister Juliari Peter Batubara. He did not speak clearly about the great man in question.
“I have been summoned here and it has been proven that I have nothing to do with the CV. Nor have I ever received the flow of funds,” he said.
“If the KPK really stands up for justice, when will it be called?” he continued.
Until this news was written, there had been no official statement from the KPK on the matter of the investigation against Effendi. It’s just that, based on the information collected, Effendi is suspected of having a connection to CV Hasil Bumi Nusantara, a partner providing social assistance to Covid-19.
CV Hasil Bumi Nusantara allegedly received a phase I welfare provider package fee of 162,250. The value of the contract reached 48,675,000,000 IDR.
Meanwhile, there are 109 social assistance partners providing basic needs or food for the Jabodetabek area in 2020.
In total, there are 14 stages of the contract package carried out by hundreds of these partners. Each partner gets a different quota and package value, ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of billions of rupees.
Based on preliminary findings, the KPK has just discovered PT Rajawali Parama Indonesia (RPI), who is suspected of having deposited a Rs 10,000 fee per welfare package to Juliari and other officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs.
In addition to Juliari, the KPK has named four other suspects. Namely, the Engagement Officer of the Ministry of Social Affairs (PPK), Adi Wahyono and Matheus Joko Santoso; as well as two private parties, Ardian IM and Harry Sidabukke, who are currently on trial at the Central Corruption Court in Jakarta (Tipikor).
