Turin – AS Roma forward Edin Dzeko is one step away from signing for Juventus. According to Soccer Italy, Dzeko will join Juventus in September 2020.
Dzeko’s presence is equivalent to completing Juventus’s wait for a pure attacker. Since the 2020 summer transfer market opened, Juventus have been linked with a number of attackers.

Because, from the beginning, Juventus was no longer interested in defending their attacker, Gonzalo Higuaín. In the near future, Juventus will also transfer Higuaín to a club in the United States, Inter Miami FC.
So why was Dzeko chosen by the Juventus leadership? The 34-year-old forward is in the shot because his style of play matches the criteria demanded by Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo.
FYI, Pirlo needs an attacker who is skilled at making room for other players. Dzeko has shown that he fits the criteria that Pirlo wants. Evidently with Roma last season, Dzeko was able to rack up 14 assists.

With the presence of Dzeko, what pattern did Pirlo use with Juventus? In a 3-5-2 pattern, the goalkeeper position is entrusted to Wojciech Szczesny. Then three equal defenders filled Leonardo Bonucci, Matthijs de Ligt and Giorgio Chiellini.
