After receiving a yellow card from referee Paul Tierney, Christensen received more severe penalties after being reviewed by the video assistant referee (VAR). The Danish defender received a direct red card.

In the second half, when they had to play with 10 people, Chelsea were caught at the bottom line. Liverpool can score two goals against Chelsea.

Sadio Mane scored goals in the 50th and 54th minutes respectively. Mane’s second goal was the center of attention for Chelsea.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga made a mistake trying to throw the ball forward. Mane blocked his kick and the ball was hit by the Senegalese forward against Chelsea. The hosts are 0-2 behind.

After falling behind, Chelsea had the opportunity to reduce the score in the 75th minute. Timo Werner forced Thiago Alcantara to commit a foul in the prohibited area.

Jorginho also took a penalty, but Alisson Becker was able to ignore it. His shot towards the lower left corner, the Reds goalkeeper can anticipate. Chelsea were 0-2 behind Liverpool until the game was dissolved.

These results saw Chelsea swallow their first defeat of the season, in the second week of the 2020/2021 Premier League. Instead, Liverpool claimed their second Premier League victory this season.
