KOMPAS.com – Dozens of residents in Nelelamadike Village, Ileboleng Sub-district, East Flores, NTT, were killed by landslides while inside, Sunday morning (4/4/2021).
The deputy regent of Flores del Este, Agustinus Boli, said that the survivors of the village tried to help. However, they fight because they don’t have heavy equipment.

“According to a report from Nelelamadike village chief Pius Sword Melai, dozens of residents died buried and could not be excavated because there was no heavy equipment,” Agus said when contacted. Kompas.com, Sunday.

Agus has asked East Flores BPBD officers to come to the scene to evacuate the victims.
His party has also asked other parties for help to help deliver heavy equipment to the venue.
The landslides were caused by heavy rains that hit the Flores del Este region from Saturday (3/4/2021) to Sunday.
In addition to the landslides, the rain also caused flooding in several areas in eastern Flores.
