Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments General TNI (Ret.) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan attended the meeting.a press conference with the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) that took place virtually, on Thursday (9/24/2020). On that occasion, Luhut mentioned Singapore in a logistical context.
At first, Luhut told me that he had been informed about NLE for two years. Therefore, he welcomed the launch of this NLE.
“My first note is that the profitability of NLE is quite large, 1.5 trillion rupees in the Batam area alone, I think it is. The current picture of importers is up to 17 service transactions. So it is very long. Now, with this ecosystem, one is determined. And I think it is a very spectacular step, “said Luhut.
“After this, now there are a series of important executions. Because I think this execution is important. I ask Mas Heru (Director General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance, Heru Pambudi), and all of Pelindo’s friends have to be calm about this. I have met with Marshal Marsetio (special personnel of the Ministry of Coordination of Marves) and I think he is very active to help in this, “he continued.
He also admitted that he would directly visit Batam, to be precise Batu Ampar Port, the implementation of NLE.
“Tomorrow I also want to go to Batam and I want to see what the 17-service-in-one demonstration is all about. Don’t just talk about it on paper, but it doesn’t work,” Luhut said.
“We need our supervision to continue. The same will affect the lego anchors we have saved, from 16 legos now to 5 anchors. With these 5 anchors our efficiency will also improve,” he continued.
Especially for Batu Ampar port, Luhut has ambition for the port to become Indonesia’s first green port. This is because Indonesia does not have such port qualifications.
“Now, I also want to see it so that later we can be the same as Singapore. So we shouldn’t be harassed by Singapore, but what is harassing us is ourselves. That is why we want to move forward and grow,” Luhut said.
In addition, Luhut also touched on the loading and unloading workforce (TKBM). This problem, according to him, must be solved because it has existed since the era of the New Order.
“Before we took transport, we took it, now we don’t. But it’s still there, I see there was a disagreement at the time, but now I force him to agree because everything has become more modern, only the workers who need to be accommodated. so they don’t lose acceptance, “Luhut said.
