Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Secretary General of the PP MuhammadiyahAbdul Mu’ti called on the government to be fair in participating in the repression of all mass organizations that do not have a Registered Certificate (SKT) from the Ministry of the Interior.
He conveyed this in response to the government’s decision to officially disband and ban the activities of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).
“The government must also be fair. Don’t just be firm with the FPI. If it turns out that there are other mass organizations that do not have SKT, we must also put them in order,” said Abdul on his official Twitter account @abe_mukti accessed on Wednesday (12/30).
Abdul assessed that the main reason why the government banned FPI activities was because SKT had expired, so the organization could be declared illegal.
He then questioned the government’s current decision to dissolve the FPI. In fact, he said, the government does not need to dissolve it because it has legally dissolved itself.
“The only problem is why only now?” He said.
On the other hand, Abdul suggested that the government immediately take legal action against mass organizations that are worrying the public and that often take the law into their own hands.
Abdul asked the public not to respond and overreact. He considered that the dissolution carried out by the government was not an anti-Islamic act, but for compliance with the laws and regulations in force.
“The most important thing is that the government is fair. Do not just be firm and severe with the FPI, but allow other organizations that do not have SKT or carry out disruptive activities. Stand up for law and justice for all,” he said.
For information, the government dissolved and designated the FPI as a prohibited organization, on Wednesday (12/30).
“To declare that the FPI is an organization that is not registered as an organization as regulated by law so that it has de jure been dissolved as a mass organization,” said Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights, Eddy Hiariej.
In the Joint Decree (SKB), the government also prohibits all activities and use of the FPI symbol on Indonesian territory. Law enforcement officials will take action against all activities that still use the FPI symbol.
