KOMPAS.com – Twitter permanently suspended President Donald Trump’s account (@realDonaldTrump) on Friday.
The companies said in a tweet that they made the decision “due to the risk of further incitement to violence.”
The suspension included a ban: Trump could no longer access his account and his tweets and profile picture were removed.

Trump previously had 88.7 million followers on Twitter before his suspension.
Quoted from CNBC (9/1/2021), Trump is said to be using his personal Twitter account to goad his followers and even make personnel changes before they can make a press release.
“Without a tweet, I wouldn’t be here,” Trump told the Financial Times in a 2017 interview.

Trump first experienced a temporary ban on Facebook and Twitter on Jan.6 during the Capitol Hill riots as lawmakers continued with the Electoral College vote-tallying formalities.
Many lawmakers and even former members of the Trump administration have criticized Trump for encouraging his supporters to reject the election results and hold protests on Capitol Hill.
Later, Congress reconfirmed Joe Biden’s victory.

When the riots broke out, Trump tweeted messages encouraging non-violence, though he later released a video message that also reaffirmed his unsubstantiated claim that his election was stolen and told the rioters “we love you.”
Twitter initially blocked some of Trump’s tweets from public view on Wednesday and asked him to delete them to regain access to his account.
After deletion, your account was locked for 12 hours. However, Twitter warned that future policy violations would result in permanent suspension of Trump’s account.
In his first tweet after returning to Twitter on January 7, Trump posted a video message urging calm and giving the closest thing to a concession speech he has, saying there will be a transition to a new government.
