JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Emergency room doctor (IGD) Gia Pratama Putra revealed an easy formula to prevent someone from being exposed to Covid-19.

The formula is “RI = JV: IT”. This means that the risk of infection (RI) is equal to the number of viruses (JV) divided by body immunity (IT).

“Immunity is crucial, how we reduce the risk of infection is to reduce the amount of virus and increase the body’s immunity,” Gia said on the FMB9 talk show on Friday (11/13/2020).

This means that the risk of infection will be lower if the amount of virus is small and the body’s immunity is high. Risk increases if viral load is high and immunity is low.

Gia explained that, to reduce the amount of viruses, health protocols should be followed in the form of wearing masks correctly, washing hands with soap, and maintaining a safe distance (3M).

If 3M has been implemented, he said, the number of viruses will automatically decrease.

However, bodily immunity must also be considered, because bodily immunity has legs or derived parts that must be considered.

Gia said that the first leg of the body’s immunity is proper nutrition, both macro and micro, as well as vitamins and minerals that must be complete.

“This means that fruits and vegetables should be every day, not fried every day,” he said.

Also, the second leg of the body’s immunity is getting enough sleep.

Currently, he said, because many are doing Work from home (FMH) or working from home, many people tend to stay up late.

In fact, recent research shows that humans sleep best for 6-7 hours, starting before 11 p.m. and waking up before 5 a.m.

“That’s the best. Many routine sports are not played during the WFH, although there are some sports that do not move, like sit on the wall or plank. Don’t be a layman. lie down while plank,” he said.

In fact, Gia said, Covid-19 patients are still required to play sports with the health workers who care for them follow up.

Because patients also have to sweat, including exposure to the morning sun.

“We need vitamin D even though we supply vitamin D to all patients, but the sun is still the champion,” he said.
