MOSCOW – Doctors in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, are forced to sedate a woman after a snake got into her mouth while she was sleeping. The snake, which was over a meter long, finally managed to get out of the woman’s body.

A video recorded at the hospital showed moments when a snake, more than a meter long, was pulled out of the patient’s mouth. In the clip, doctors appear surprised when the animal is removed from the patient’s body and placed in a bucket.

According to published Russian media reports RT, the woman was sleeping under a tree in her garden, when the snake got into her mouth. The woman woke up with a severe stomach ache.

He finally decided to go to the hospital to have his condition checked.

The doctor, not knowing what happened, gave the woman general anesthesia while the doctor began to work. They only found out what happened when they found that the snake was moving and managed to remove it from inside the woman’s body.

Footage from the gruesome operation showed a doctor’s gloved hand removing the snake after inserting a tube down its throat.

He was heard saying off camera, “Let’s see what this is.”

A doctor grabbed the snake when she pulled it out of the woman’s mouth. She jumps back in shock and the medical staff yells that they are aware of the length of the snake inside the patient’s body.

Then the creature dropped into a medical bucket.

It was unclear if the snake was still alive or how long it had been in the woman’s body.

The health ministry of Dagestan, a mountainous republic bordering the Caspian Sea, has yet to comment on the case.

Locals said such incidents were rare and older residents advised young people not to sleep outside due to the risk of snakes slipping into their mouths.

So far the identity of the patient has not been revealed and the type of snake is not unknown.
