According to Gilbert, since Anies became governor in 2017, there has been no real improvement.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – DKI Jakarta won the Sustainable Transportation Award (STA) 2021 for sustainable transportation services provided by the Institute for Transportation Development Policy (ITDP) based in New York, USA. Governor Anies Baswedan appreciated this achievement.

DPRD DKI Jakarta Commission B member Gilbert Simanjuntak assessed that the award received by the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) was the result of performance from previous governors and the central government.

“We congratulate DKI Pemprov for this award. This is the result of the work from the previous governors and the work of the central government in Jakarta today,” said the member of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD when contacted. Republic, Saturday (10/31).

Despite receiving an award, according to Gilbert, this achievement was not in line with actual conditions on the field. He charged that since Anies was governor of DKI three years ago, there had been no real improvements, especially in terms of public transportation. “Because we haven’t felt anything ‘wow’ since 2017,” he said.

Gilbert said, Anies has a good idea when planning to improve public transportation in Jakarta, one of which is the Jaklingko program. However, he said, the execution or implementation of the planning was considered deficient.

“Yes, the concept is good, but the completion / operation is missing. Our Jaklingko does not see satisfactory results in the field. There is nothing that surprises us with the developments during 2019-2020, except the LRT (central government project)”, Gilbert said.

“On the field, has Jaklingko gone the way? How many have there been compared to the goal according to the campaign? I saw it far from expectations,” he added.

Therefore, Gilbert hopes that attention will be paid to the improvement and implementation of public transportation in Jakarta. According to him, if the Jaklingko program can be seriously implemented, it will reduce the use of motorcycles in the capital city. “If Jaklingko races, the number of bikes will definitely decrease,” he added.
