JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Jakarta DKI President Prasetyo Edi Marsudi confirmed the information that DKI Secretary Saefullah and West Jakarta Mayor Uus Kuswanto were positively exposed to Covid-19.

“Yes (DKI regional secretary and West Jakarta mayor are exposed to Covid-19),” Prasetyo said when confirmed by Kompas.com, Saturday night (12/9/2020).

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan also confirmed the news.

Both are classified as people without symptoms. Therefore, Anies asked the residents of DKI to pray for the recovery of the two public officials.

“We expect a speedy recovery like this. But (DKI Jakarta regional secretary and West Jakarta mayor) have no symptoms,” Anies said.

The news of the Covid-19 from the two public officials coincided with the DKI provincial government plan to implement full-scale social restrictions (PSBB).

It is known that the PSBB will be implemented again from September 14, 2020.

Anies said this decision was made considering a number of factors, namely the availability of hospital beds that were almost full and the high mortality rate.

“At a meeting of the working group to accelerate the control of Covid-19 in Jakarta, it was concluded that we will pull the emergency brake, which means that we are forced to re-implement social restrictions on a large scale as in the first days of the pandemic, “Anies said on Wednesday (9/9/2020).

According to Anies, this decision also followed the rule of President Joko Widodo, calling for health to be prioritized.

With the implementation of this PSBB, it is certain that various activities, namely office activities, business, transportation, will again be restricted to public facilities.
